Areca Palm

Indoors, as a large floor plant. It needs a good amount of space to spread its fronds (leaves). It's great for bright living rooms or large hallways.

Peat-Moss Based Potting Mix. Use a soil that is rich and holds moisture well, but is still fluffy and drains excess water quickly. They like a slightly acidic soil.

Medium. It's not the easiest plant, mainly because it needs consistent moisture and high humidity to prevent the tips of its leaves from turning brown.

Warm Room Temperature (18°C to 25°C / 65°F to 77°F). They are very sensitive to cold. Keep them away from air conditioners, cold windows, and cold drafts.

Keep the soil consistently moist, but never soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Never let the pot sit in standing water. Using distilled or rainwater can help prevent brown tips.
